Does the latest xfce version support global app menu properly?

For now I use xfce 4.12 and `xfce4-appmenu-plugin` that moves window menu to top bar. I also tried to remove header and buttons from windows when maximized as described by this manual http://www.webupd8.org/2014/07/xubuntu- … ndows.html. Unfortunately, I refused due to it works unacceptable.

It would be great to have that feature similar to Unity working properly. It's wanted to move maximized windows by grabbing the header.

I currently use this plugin with archlinux. The version number claims to be 4.14.
I count the days where it will work ...

Re: Does the latest xfce version support global app menu properly?

I don't use a full panel so I can't test but I show windowck available for 4.14(version 0.4.6) in MX-19 as well.

This panel plugin puts maximized window buttons and/or title on the panel.
You must also set XFCE to not show the titlebars for maximized windows. This
saves some valuable screen real estate, especially if you have a wide screen.

xfwm-titless is also mentioned in the article(no idea what it is but available through AUR for Arch). Have you tested it?

In the settings menu of the window manager xfwm4 under "Accessibility" you can check "Hide title of windows when maximized". This is of course very useful in combination with the  xfce4-windowck-plugin.

But I cannot find anything like "xfwm-titless".

From the link posted earlier:

Update: instead of Maximus, you can use xfwm4-titleless, which should work better on Xfce, but you'll have to compile it from source (thanks to Rober for the tip!). Arch Linux users can grab it via AUR.

Maybe check with the Arch folks on that one. If anyone is on top of there packages and documentation it's those guys.

They will ask me where the sources are. Do you mean this:
https://github.com/cedl38/xfwm4
https://bugs.gentoo.org/510478

I fear this is out of date and not worth a try anymore.

That looks like what was referred to. I just noticed the earlier link is also 2014 so I guess the whole project just got abandoned.
