Forum password length bug

When you try to change your password it says:

Passwords must be at least 6 characters long.

But if you enter an 8 character password it is rejected for not being at least 9 characters long.

although it was too long for me to remember
now I have 12 characters, but also it all depends on whether your pass is gibberish or real words
