i find those bug reporting forms to be too difficult to work with.

i have been unable to find a specific forum for xubuntu (as opposed to xfce or ubuntu, both of which i already use).

Yeah. The thing is that this is not an Xfce issue or anything that Xfce or this forum can help with. It really is a distro issue (assuming that the content in that file is incorrect - which unfortunately is unclear from the original post).
