Xfce power manager: display dim after delay is too short

Xfce power manager settings, Display tab, Brightness reduction, Reduce after: the range of settings is too small for Plugged in.  i want to set this at 10 minutes.  the intent is to dim to about 20% if i walk away when plugged in, though 2 minutes is fine when on battery.  i get too many dims at 2 minutes.  these can be annoying since i dim down a lot.  adding a feature of a slow dim would be nice with a setting of how much time to slowly dim it.

Power Manager > Display, change values under Brightness Reduction.
