keyboard shortcut vs. closing some menus

there is a keyboard shortcut that has the "Prt Sc / SysRq" key do a print screen.  i changed it to do my own print screen command that silently just saves every screen as a timestamped file.   there are some kinds of displays the mouse can bring up, which any keypress will close.  when i try to print the screen with one of those being displayed, it closes it and the screenshot is after it closes.  so i can't capture certain problems (like something missing in such a menu).  is there a way to make a certain key not close such menus, but, still do the shortcut?

Re: keyboard shortcut vs. closing some menus

Use this in the terminal so you can set the delay before taking the screenshot and get that window showing:

xfce4-screenshooter

Hope that helps.
