changes in xfce-terminal

in the move to Xubuntu 18.04 i found that xfce-terminal now does, by default, what i struggled, and failed, to get it to do back on 16.04, and that was to show the character it was sitting over using flipping (inversion) of the foreground and background colors.  i am happy i switched to Xubuntu 18.04.
