New window placement

Hi, any way to tell windows where to open on the screen?  I constantly have to juggle window placements to fit my needs instead of the OS needs.

Xfce uses smart placement. If the application supports saving and restoring window position, then that will override smart placement. Otherwise, you will need to use an application like devilspie that among other things, can be used to force window location placement.
