keyboard hotkey during fullscreen video

is it possible for Xfce to capture a hotkey configured under application shortcuts to operate during a full screen display of a video being played such as via Firefox?

Re: keyboard hotkey during fullscreen video

I think so, yes:

1. Open video in Firefox, full screen
2. Use keyboard shortcuts for different things
3. Shortcuts working normally

Is this what you meant?

Re: keyboard hotkey during fullscreen video

there is a way in the X protocol to capture all input such that none of it goes to other connections to the X server.  i just don't know if the video player does this as part of opening a full screen.  but to have full input at every position on the screen, it is the easiest way.  i'm guessing "it depends" on what the player is doing.  a believe a full screen VNC client would have to do this, for example.
