Change the icon for mime types in thunar

Hi,

how can i change the icon that is displayed in thunar for a specific mime type? lets say i want to change the icon for mkv (matroska) files into the matroska icon. i've tried changing the mime type file in /usr/share/mime/application/ (x-matroska.xml) and replaced

<generic-icon name="video-x-generic"/>

with

<generic-icon name="x-matroska"/>

x-matroska.png is saved in "/usr/share/icons/elementary-xfce/mimes/128/". after reload the database with

sudo update-mime-database /usr/share/mime

the icon is replaced with

<generic-icon name="video-x-generic"/>

I followed this howto https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AddingMimeTypes under "Another way to add a MIME Type"
