Why do i have to use Ristretto image viewer to change wallpaper in Xfce. !!!

You don't have to use Ristretto - there are numerous other methods.

Can you provide a clearer explanation of what the problem is including information about:

  • the distro that you are using

  • the version of Xfce

  • the version of xfdesktop

    xfdesktop -V

...including (on my system, at least) simply right-clicking on the desktop and then left-clicking on "Desktop Settings" or pressing the s key.

I want to use Thunar but that as not worked for ages.How do i get Thunar to work so that i can change my wallpaper.
