Midori is Missing

Why Midori not included by default in the Xfce bundle? First time, I am using Debian and Xfce. I selected Xfce as DE in Debian installer, but after installation I noticed that Midori was missing.

It is the distro that selects the included applications so it is better to ask Debian. However I note that many distros include Firefox as the default browser as that is more popular.

raghavgururajan, I think that most distributions didn't include Midori, because it's development seemed dormant. It had bugs and since it wasn't really updated there were possible security flaws concerns. I'm happy to say, that we should see a new release soon.

(...) “Is Midori dead?” is a popular question these days. That cat has certainly been napping a while. But I feel like some people were very happy to find out that development is  going on and there’s a new release on the horizon not too far in the future!
