Hi everybody

Hey y'all,

I've been an Xfce user for a few years now; and I thought I'd join in, say hi, and see if I can contribute to this awesome project.

Re: Hi everybody

Heya,

Thanks!

I'd like to contribute code. #13868 seemed like a good first issue to me, and has actually happened to me too in the past. I got in touch Andre over on #xfce-dev and got the green light to work on a patch for it.

Other than that, I've noticed the efforts porting various Xfce core apps from gtk2 to gtk3. It seems like that's almost done though.

Is there anything specific the Xfce devs would like help with?

Re: Hi everybody

There are a few more plugins that need to be ported - namely xfce4-weather-plugin and xfce4-mailwatch-plugin. If you want to have a go at those....

Otherwise, look through the bug and enhancement requests to see what interestes you. If you look at the Xfce bountysource page, you'll see where people are eager to get things done - including offering monetary rewards.

Re: Hi everybody

Thanks for the info! I'll have a look at those next. I suspect my attempt at gtk2→gtk3 would go pretty slowly though, as I'm not too familiar with the available components and objects of either gtk versions. Someone else might beat me to it tongue
