Hi
compiling Thunar v 1.6.13 and looking at the desktop files I appear to be missing some icons
The ones I would like to see but not sure why I am missing them are
thunar-settings.desktop says I should have system-file-manager
----but it does not exist under 48x48/icons or other resolutions
thunar-tpa.desktop which is under xfce4/panel/plugins names icon as user-trash
---and I can't find that either.
Any clues? I can use Thunar.png for some but its not right to use it for the trash can IMHO
thanks for reading
trivia

They are part of the icon naming specification and should be provided by the icon theme that you are using.
If your icon theme does not provide them, you can either:
Install the gnome icon theme and/or ensure that your icon theme inherits from it. (See: https://specifications.freedesktop.org/ … atest.html).
Use an icon theme that provides those files (gnome, tango, elementary, adwaita, etc)

excellent
found them under gnome-icon-theme
48x48/places has the user-trash.png
48x48/apps has the system-file-manager.png
marked as solved
