Unable to use browse network

I'm using the latest version of archmerge which is an arch based distro. When I open a thunar window and select browse network workgroup I don't see any of my shares. All I see is 0 items in the lower part of the thunar window. Gvfs is installed. Is there something else that may be causing this? I am able to type this in a thunar window smb://mysharename/myshare and that works.

Make sure gvfs-smb is installed. Also test with the firewall disabled.
