I get the same error when using xfce software from the terminal. Is there a way to correct this by myself?
Running gedit from the terminal
(gksudo:4098): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "xfce",
xfce4-about
(xfce4-about:13615): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "xfce",
then
xfce4-about-Message: No vendor information found in "/usr/share/xfce4/vendorinfo".

If you're using Xubuntu 16.04 (as per your signature) make sure that the gtk2-engines-xfce package is installed.
xfce4-about-Message: No vendor information found in "/usr/share/xfce4/vendorinfo".
This seems like a distro packaging issue. Best to follow up there. The libxfce4ui package was compiled with the "with-vendor-info=NAME" parameter but the vendor info file is missing. If you want to get rid of that message, create the file /usr/share/xfce4/vendorinfo and add some information in there (it will display on a new tab in the xfce4-about dialog). Its meant for distros to add in distro descriptions, etc.
