Re: tiling wm , display window visible on all workspaces

It works fine here. Try with the -v parameter to get some verbose output:

wmctrl -v -r "File Manager" -b toggle,sticky,below

Indeed it works with xfwm4 .
I was using xfce+xmonad .

Strange , some wmtrl commands works , some others not .
Same output for xfwm4&xmonad , but it doesn't work with this last one .

$ wmctrl -v -r "File Manager" -b toggle,sticky,below
envir_utf8: 1
Using window: 0x02400004
State 2: _NET_WM_STATE_BELOW
State 1: _NET_WM_STATE_STICKY
$

Same thing with i3 wm .
Devilspie doesn't work neither with those tiling wm .

Is there a way to make xfwm4 act like a tiling wm instead ?

I don't have any knowledge of or experience with xmonad or i3 to comment.

xfwm4 does have some tiling features (automatic tiling when windows are dragged to screen edge and keyboard shortcuts for tiling). Exactly which tiling features are you looking for?

I would like that all windows be tiled each other automatically ;
and still be able to activate floating mode .

Re: tiling wm , display window visible on all workspaces

You mean placed in a tiled mode when they start. No, xfwm4 doesn't do that.
