Hello!
I'm using xfce 4.12 on Debian sid.
In xfce4-session-settings, the 'Restart Style' of xfsettingsd is "Immediately''
However when I 'pkill xfsettingsd', it is not restarted at all.
So what's the meaning of 'Restart Style' - 'Immediately'?
BTW, how to change 'Restart Style'? I tried modifying "Client*_RestartStyleHint=*" in ~/.cache/sessions/xfce4-session-* but it seems to have no effect.
Thanks!

Hello and welcome.
The help documentation is a little light on this. There is this explanation that might be more helpful.

Given the explanation in the above link, it should be restarted. If it's not working as you notice, a bug report may be in order.

It's not really intuitive, but on the Session tab, the "Restart Style" column entries are clickable. If you click on a programs restart style, a list of options will pop up that you can select from.
