ical / caldav function in orage calendar

Hello,

could it be possible to add a ical caldav function in Orage calendar software ? This will enable to sync the local calendar with other one's. Maybe in the foreign files tab ?

Re: ical / caldav function in orage calendar

For example, it doesn't work with Owncloud calendar or Baïkal or Radicale.

Perhaps you could put an enhancement request in the bug tracker to bring it to the developer's attention.

Re: ical / caldav function in orage calendar

I use one-way synchronization between Baïkal and Orage via Claws-mail.

1) Baïkal can export to iCalendar format (read-only):
* https://localhost/cal.php/calendars/fbi/assignations?export

2) Setup Baïkal to plain authentication (not digest!).

3) Add subscription to Claws-mail (with vCalendar plugging) using "user:password" credentials:
* https://fbi:topsecret@localhost/cal.php/calendars/fbi/assignations?export

4) Setup Claws-mail to export calendar to Orage.

It's convenient for me, because I already use Claws-mail. But it's calendar plugging (orage based) looks slightly outdated and Claws-mail doesn't support CardDav, so I think about migration to Thunderbird. Anyway, embedded CalDAV synchronization in Orage would be very big deal.

The other wonderful piece of software is vdirsyncer. It supports CalDAV protocol which is also supported by Google calendar. With simple configurations we can synchronize Google calendar locally. Then we can use Orage to view/modify our calendar files. Orage is a time-managing application that can manage your calendars, appointments, alarms, and todo lists.
