How to properly lock the screen when closing the laptop lid? [SOLVED]

When i lock the screen via the menu button or via terminal with xflock4 or with xfce4-screensaver-command --lock i get a login prompt.
However when i close my laptop lid and open it again i can see the screen as if it was unlocked. I can move the mouse but otherwise can't interact with it. When enter my password i can interact with it again. Is this the expected behavior?
How can you do a normal screen lock when closing the lid?

I've found a solution!
Disabling the option "Display fullscreen overlay windows directly" in the compositor tab from xfwm4-tweaks-settings fixes this.
