Is there any way to 'teach' Tumbler how to show thumbs of RAW files? I mean, raw digital photo images (.nef, .pef, .orf, and so on).
thanks in advance,

We need to write an additional thumbnailer for that. Please file an enhancement request on bugzilla.xfce.org.

Hi,
I have two plugins for tumbler enabling the service to generate thumbnails for various raw files. One is specifically for Sigma's foveon X3F files, the other one provide thumbnails for the raw formats supported by libopenraw.
Please note that this last one depends on libopenraw-gnome availability.
Source code tarballs are available here:
tumbler-x3f-plugin
tumbler-raw-plugin
Please try them...

@Ille: Nice! How about hosting them somewhere public?

No problem. Tell me if I have anything to do for this.

After downloading some Sigma SD1 raw samples, I'm glad to announce that my tumbler-x3f-plugin generates thumbnails for those huge ~50Mo x3f files very quickly.

We have merged the RAW thumbnailer plugin into the tumbler repository today. It will be included in the next release of tumbler. The same might happen with the X3F plugin but that is yet to be decided.
