Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

Ubuntu 9.04 on all my desktops and laptops.  I install a cli install of Ubuntu with the alternate installer, then install the xfce4 meta-package and any apps I need one at a time.  Keeps the machines lean and mean.  I don't get into the ubuntu-desktop or xubuntu-desktop or the full installers.  Always get stuff I don't need.

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

I use KDE when I log in locally on my Fedora 8 system, but I use XFCE when I connect remotely with NX client.

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

tried: Fedora 10 & 11. Mandriva 2009. Linux Mint 7, OpenSUSE 11.1, ZenWalk 6, Sabayon 4.1.. Some of this distros mounted xfce as DE (optional or default); others offers repository packages to install it..
but today I'm still using slackware.. there's nothing to do!

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

Xubuntu = Bloat and not light and fast Xubuntu and Ubuntu (Gnome) seem just as fast. I have more hopes for Lubuntu.

I personally run Arch Linux but I am really considering replacing Xfce with LXDE.

Haha! Most Arch user I know try out a lot of new things. I hope you'll find „your“ desktop even if it's not Xfce.

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

Nowadays I prefer simple Debian Lenny.
Played a lot with Sidux (in my opinion the best thing for standard needs, but too much for my needs)
Although I admire the speed of slackware systems, it quickly becomes a bit too tricky for my Linux knowledge

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

If you're still counting. Gentoo
I've been using Gnome forever (various distos FC, Suse, Ubuntu), but now I'm trying to rehab 2 old computers and needed something a little slimmer. 1 is a compaq armada 1700 (P2-300MHz 96Mb 5G hd) and Via Mini-ITX (Via Ezra 800MHz, 640Mb, 20G). It's a labor of love. I'm new to Xfce, but I'm diggin' it so far. A lot to learn yet.

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

I'm currently using Zenwalk 6.2 on an ASUS EeePC 701 purchased in December 2007 and am more than pleased with it.  Never had any issues!  Originally I had Xfce running on the default Xandros after I screwed enough courage to begin fiddling with my first -- and only computer -- which ain't bad for an old man.   yikes

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

Hi

I mostly use Xfce on minimal installations (netinstall) of Debian stable, testing and unstable.

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

I installed Slackware 13.0 and it almost replaces my Archlinux as main system. So I'm running Xfce (4.6.1) on a Slackware machine.

Re: Which distribution do you run Xfce on?

Slackware 13. The standard KDE 4 interface is unusable IMO, worse than Vista.
